We are a living history group who portray Homefront Monmouthshire constabulary police and British infantry 1939-1945. We are happy to attend schools and other functions on request and put on static displays indoors and out. Just drop us a line to discuss your requirements and we will try to help. Please note that out side of a certain range we may ask for a bit of help towards fuel costs, even if its just £20 as the cost of fuel is extortianate.

This web site was put together by the R.S.M. and most pictures were found and added by the R.S.M. of the unit with the aid of  the para for supplying a few pictures taken at displays.

 One And All.

The cap badge is normally worn with a red felt insert in memory of the daring attack on an American camp at Brandywine in 1777.

An excerpt taken from the book Arnhem 1944, The Airborne Battle.

Driel is still a quiet village. The original church up which various senior officers climbed to consider best how to help the men fighting at Oosterbeek was later destroyed. On the wall of the new church is a memorial to the 5th Duke of Cornwalls light infantry, the first unit of 43rd Wessex Division to reach the village and join up with the Poles.

It is our intention as a group to, at some, point visit all the places that the D.C.L.I. passed through during operation 'Market Garden' in our uniforms and visit other sites including the ones in and around Normandy.

All new members will be informed of show dates and will be asked to, either over four months or four shows depending which happens soonest, come along and see if it is what they would like to do. It is just for new members to be absolutely sure that they wish to join the group. If not they may see someone else's group whom they may be interested in and would like to join instead of the 'Docs' and it means that everyone is kept happy, as there's nothing worse than joining a group that you feel uncomfortable or at odds with.

Everybody in this unit, as with all reenacting units allied and axis alike, will be expected to wear their uniform and equipment correctly. All kit to be appropriatley blancoed as necessary. Correct webbing to be worn at all times and buttons to be kept done up at all times, no flapping cuffs! If weather is exceptionally hot then the top button of the battledress blouse as well as the hook and eye fasteners on the collar will be allowed to be undone, under war office regulations. When your in your uniform for a display your in it for the duration of the event. No wearing of 'civvies' will be permited. Sloppy dress or behaviour will not be allowed. We have a duty to the ex service men and women to honour their memory and sacrifice and to do that we must act and look as professional as possible, at all times.
